Please note that workers are required to attend SIP within 14 days of arrival. If your worker has missed the 14 days, please write to http://www.mom.gov.sg/extend-stay and get an extension from MOM.

 

Female workers from CMP sector and workers from manufacturing sector may proceed to book SIP via this website. For male CMP sectors, please visit MOM website https://www.mom.gov.sg/covid-19/onboard-centre to learn more about residential onboarding program.

Please note that this is NOT the Settling-in-Program for Domestic Workers (Helpers) and any wrong registration will NOT be refunded.



Please note that no refunds will be given for any wrong registration of workers.

There will also be no refunds or re-scheduling for absentees without valid reasons.

For any re-scheduling or replacement request, please write in to us at least 2 working days before the course date.

Please ensure that your worker's arrive on time for registration. Any worker's arriving after 9:30am of the course date will be rejected.

Please indicate your worker's dietary requirements correctly during registration (Vegetarian/Non-Vegetarian).

About SIP

The Ministry of Manpower (MOM) has introduced a mandatory Foreign Worker Settling-in Programme (FW SIP) to enhance educational efforts. The FW SIP is a 1-day orientation programme to educate Migrant Workers (MWs) on Singapore’s social norms, their employment rights and obligations, Singapore laws and where and how to seek assistance.

Starting with the construction sector, all first-time non-Malaysian Work Permit holders whose work permit application is submitted on or after 1 October 2018 are required to attend FW SIP.

From 1 December 2019, all first-time non-Malaysian Work Permit holders in all sectors (except Services) must attend the FW SIP to learn about their employment rights and other useful information.

All MWs on Work Permit must attend the FW SIP within 14 calendar days of arrival.

How to Register
  1. Employers/Employment Agencies are required to first create an account before registering workers for FW SIP
  2. Log in to your account to register workers.
  3. For Tuesday-Saturday classes, the deadline to register is 24 hours before the start of the course (for e.g. to register for Wednesday’s class, you will have to do so by 0900 on Tuesday).
  4. For Monday classes, the deadline is 48 hours before the start of the course (i.e. Saturday 0900 is the deadline).

  • Applied for Work Permit to work in the construction sector from 1 October 2018.
  • Applied for Work Permit to work in the marine, manufacturing, and process sectors from 1 December 2019.

*English: Workers who do not understand any of the languages abovementioned, are required to attend the English class accompanied with an interpreter provided by the EA/Company.
** Tagalog classes will be available from 1 December 2019.

Please ensure that your worker brings along the full set of IPA letter to FW SIP. An employer whose worker fails to do so will be flagged to MOM and MOM may take administrative action, including suspending the employer from applying for new work passes.

Please also ensure your worker brings his passport for verification. Failing to do so will result in you having to re-register your worker to attend the class on another day.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)


A: The FW SIP is a mandatory programme implemented for first-time non-Malaysian Work Permit holders. It is an additional requirement, on top of all existing requirements for the work permit to be issued.
A: It will be stated on his/her In-Principle Approval letter. All first-time non-Malaysian Work Permit holders
  1. in the construction sector whose work pass application is submitted on or after 1 October 2018 are required to attend FW SIP.
  2. in the marine, manufacturing and process sectors whose work permit application is submitted on or after 1 December 2019 are required to attend FW SIP.
A: Only migrant workers whose work permit applications are submitted on or after 1 October 2018 are required to attend the FW SIP. If your worker’s application was submitted before October, he is not required to attend the FW SIP.

A: All employers/employment agencies must first create a user account on our website. All registrations are done online. We do not accept walk-in registrations.
A: Yes, you may register multiple workers at once by entering all your workers’ details and selecting the course timeslots before making payment.
A: Yes, you would need to hire an interpreter for your worker for the course if he does not understand any of the 7 listed languages (English, Chinese, Tamil, Bengali, Thai, Burmese and Tagalog). Your interpreter is required to sit with your worker(s) throughout the course. Employers will bear the cost of the interpreters.
There is no interpreter to worker ratio. One interpreter can handle a group of workers if they all speak the same language.
A: If the worker is unable to attend the FW SIP on the registered course date, you may change the date of the class as long as the date falls within the 14-day window period. To replace a registered worker with another worker, you will need to do so by the following deadlines:
  • For Tuesday-Saturday classes, the deadline is 24 hours before the start of the course (for e.g. to make changes for the Wednesday class, you will have to do so by 0900 on Tuesday.
  • For Monday classes, the deadline is 48 hours before the start of the course (i.e. Saturday 0900 is the deadline.)
A:  Yes, you would need to sign him up for another slot within the 14-day window period.
A: Failure to register your worker, or failure to attend the FW SIP will result in the non-issuance of his work permit.
If your worker is unable to attend the FW SIP due to unforeseen circumstances, please appeal to MOM <mom_fwsip@mom.gov.sg> with the supporting document(s).
A: There will be no refunds for absentees. In exceptional instances where requests for refunds may be considered, an administrative charge of 5% shall be borne by the customer.
A: You may register once you confirm the worker’s date of arrival. During registration, you are required to key in the “Date of Arrival” and the system will automatically list the available classes within the 14-days window.
You are encouraged to register as early as possible in order to secure slots.
A: Your worker is required to bring his ORIGINAL PASSPORT and FULL SET OF ORIGINAL IN-PRINCIPLE APPROVAL LETTER (Employee’s Copy).

Step 2: Following your email, we will process and contact the person in-charge within 3 working days with the available date of course.
After we key in the data in our system, you will receive an email notification to make payment on your account.

Step 3: Registration for appealed worker will be successful after payment.
A: Once you’ve successfully made payment, the receipt will be emailed to the user. You will not be able to access the receipt from the user account. Kindly save all the receipts in the email for your reference.
